So you think you want a Goldendoodle? || Salt Lake City’s Best Goldendoodle Breeder

We’re In Agreement

I couldn’t agree more with your decision but then I’m a breeder of beautiful, Goldendoodles so that makes sense.

Here is the question: What are the characteristics of a Goldendoodle that make them such desirable dogs to own?

Reason 1

First - I think the primary draw is that they are low shedding dogs, notice I said low shedding and not non-shedding…some breeders will tell you that their dogs are non-shedding, but the truth is that anything with fur or hair will shed to some degree and that degree is determined by genetics.

Reason 2

Second is that they have the most amazing temperaments, friendly, outgoing, smart, human focused and so easy to train. They are good alert dogs but don’t count on them to guard your home and family, they will just make friends with the intruders.

Reason 3

Third, they are a sturdy healthy breed that can be a hiking partner to avid hikers or couch potatoes with those who like a more laid-back life. They are very versatile and if properly socialized in the first 16 weeks of life, and continued daily training, they make good candidates for therapy or service work.

BUT not just any ole breeder will do for this designer breed.  There are many factors to consider when choosing and breeding a dog and a reputable breeder will take the guesswork out of knowing if you’re getting a good quality pup.  Getting your pup from a reputable breeder is the most important decision you will make and will set you up for success from day one.

The Goldendoodle Association of North America has a list of breeders that follow their strict breeding guidelines and regular audits are made to assure that the breeders on that list are maintaining their health clearances on all registered breeding dogs. There are three levels of testing, and I am proud to say that here at Beehive Fur Friends, we are Gold Standard breeders.

Gold, Silver and Bronze all have a slightly different standard of health testing but all dogs that are registered must have a minimum of genetic and hip testing.  My dogs have the following testing done, genetics through Embark and NeoGen, hips, elbows, patella, eyes and heart through the Orthopedic Foundation of America also known as OFA.

The Beehive Fur Friends Difference

So what makes us one of the premier Goldendoodle breeders in Utah?

We breed with health and temperament as the most important traits and conformation for long-term orthopedic health.

Our puppies are raised in our home and we primarily use Puppy Culture Protocols in the first 9 weeks to raise well-socialized and happy healthy puppies.

We take our pups for their first set of shots, a licensed veterinarian exam, and a microchip at 8 weeks old and once they have the vet’s approval of health, they’re ready to go home!

Conclusion

Stay tuned for more info on bringing a puppy home! And of course, we hope that will be a Beehive Fur Friend because “everyone deserves a BFF”
