Brenton came outside to tell me about his Ohio trip, he got home late last night after driving out there with Evan, ( I love those boys) and he had such a wonderful time with family. It made me happy to see him light up when he talked about each visit with relatives he hasn’t seen in 12 years. Thank you Aunt Lyn and Uncle Ted for hosting my boys and Aunt Traci, Uncle Todd Heather and the cousins for spending time with them! I love you all so much.
I then looked over at my little neighbor Jack’s house to see all of his friends arriving for his 4th birthday party, it took me back to those sweet days of my children and their little friend birthday parties…tears dropped on the mulch as I contemplate the end of a very long era of raising children…
Then my thoughts moved to the sad news my friend shared yesterday on FB that her son’s remains were found in the Lake Mead desert after missing for 2 and a half years. We all so wanted that to end differently!
Then to our start of the Spring break, a sleepover with the grand babies!!! So fun! I am blessed with the perfect husband for me and the perfect grandpa to our grandkids!
I got to have a relaxed lunch with Dani yesterday after a couple hours of shopping for odds and ends Dani needed for their new apartment. How wonderful it is to have her near us for the first time in 12 years. I wish the circumstances were different but they aren’t and we’re going to make the best of it!
Life ain’t always beautiful, sometimes it’s just plain hard Life can knock you down, it can break your heart…
but the STRUGGLES MAKE YOU STRONGER, and CHANGES MAKE YOU WISE, TEARS WILL FALL SOMETIMES
This weekend will wind down with 2 days of talks by our General church leadership and it’s my favorite time of year. Their inspired words on how we can better follow the Savior Jesus Christ is manna to my heart. Especially at this difficult time for this mama! I’m so looking forward to these next couple of days.
But before that, I got to have some snuggle time with my sweet little nephew…pure heaven! Newborn babies are the closest thing to Heaven in my mind. He is perfect!
And last but not least…there’s Mama Mika, I watch her closely everyday to see how she is progressing with her pregnancy. She is such a wonderful companion. She hasn’t been eating very well so I’ve been supplementing her with beef organs, bones and meat to keep her energy up. Her babies are growing rapidly at this point, so nutrition is important. We bought her some new toys today and she has been so cute picking them out of the basket and hiding them back in the basket. She is so smart and fun. I truly enjoy her companionship.
So at the end of the day, “happiness has its own way of taking its sweet time”…life ain’t always beautiful, but it’s a beautiful ride! I have so much to be grateful for…faith, family, neighbors and “fur friends”
“WHAT A BEAUTIFUL RIDE“
